PM Dahal advocates for prior rights for Dalit community



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has issued a fervent appeal to all governmental bodies to diligently enforce laws and policies aimed at eradicating racial discrimination and untouchability.

In his message commemorating the National Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Untouchability today, PM Dahal emphasized the pivotal role of all three tiers of government in ensuring the effective implementation of necessary legislation.

He specifically urged governments to integrate Dalit empowerment programs into their policies, programs, and budgets, while also enforcing anti-discrimination laws.

Highlighting the need for prioritizing the rights of the Dalit community, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of ensuring their socioeconomic and cultural rights without impediment.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to positive discrimination policies, including the establishment of a Dalit development authority as outlined in governmental plans and programs.

Furthermore, PM Dahal underscored the significance of continued Dalit advocacy to oversee governmental activities, ensuring that their quest for justice is expeditiously realized.
