President Paudel advocates for eradication of racial discrimination



KATHMANDU: In a resolute call to action, President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized the imperative of abolishing racial discrimination and untouchability to construct a truly equitable society.

Marking the National Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Untouchability today, President Paudel underscored that these entrenched practices pose significant barriers to national prosperity.

He urged all citizens to actively engage in dismantling these harmful norms.

Offering his heartfelt wishes to all Nepalis on this significant occasion, the President highlighted the urgent need for a paradigm shift in traditional and social customs, promoting unity, harmony, and goodwill among diverse communities.

He voiced concern over the perpetuation of racial discrimination and untouchability due to economic disparity, conservative ideologies, backwardness, and ignorance.

President Paudel unequivocally condemned racial discrimination as both a social and moral stain, emphasizing its criminal nature.

He called upon all stakeholders, including governmental bodies, political parties, civil society, and media, to exhibit sensitivity and commitment towards eradicating these injustices.

Notably, Nepal achieved the milestone of being declared a nation free of racial discrimination and untouchability on Jestha 21, 2066 BS.
