KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, stressed the importance of willpower in disaster management, highlighting its significance over mere budget allocation.

Addressing a meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee of the National Assembly, DPM Lamichhane emphasized, “Budget management follows where there is willpower.

It’s crucial to ensure the availability of necessary resources for effective disaster management. Saving citizens’ lives during disasters remains our top priority, and we must focus on addressing immediate needs first.

The government is diligently working towards an integrated disaster management system.”

He underscored the necessity of preparedness to minimize losses caused by disasters and called for broader discussions on the budget required for disaster management.

DPM Lamichhane reassured the government’s commitment to providing necessary resources for disaster preparedness and response efforts.
