Speaker consults with Chief Whips to finalize winter session parliament schedule



KATHMANDU: To enhance the structure and efficiency of parliamentary proceedings, the Federal Parliament has unveiled the calendar for the upcoming Winter Session.

The schedule includes designated days for both House meetings and parliamentary committee sessions.

According to the agreed-upon plan, house meetings and parliamentary committee sessions will be held three days a week.

On Friday, House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Devraj Ghimire held consultations with the chief whips and whips of the political parties represented in the parliament to discuss and finalize the calendar.

The proposed schedule, presented by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, has received consensus and is set to be implemented for a duration of 15 days starting from February 5, as confirmed by Mahesh Bartaula, the whip of CPN-UML.
