PM Oli arrives in Beijing
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli arrived in Beijing on Monday for an official four-day visit.
Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, he was welcomed by Sun Weidong, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Communist Party.
The visit is expected to further strengthen Nepal-China relations.
DPM Singh assumes Acting PM role during PM’s visit to China
President Ram Chandra Poudel has appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, to oversee the daily administrative duties of the Prime Minister in his absence.
Prime Minister KP Oli has left for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China today.
As a result, Deputy Prime Minister Singh has been tasked with the role of acting Prime Minister while PM Oli is abroad.
37 local by-election: NC tops, Maoist Center and UML trail
The vote counting for the local level by-elections held on Sunday is ongoing, with the Election Commission having released results for 37 seats so far.
Based on these results, the Nepali Congress is currently in first place, securing 16 wards. The Nepali Congress is also leading in Kirtipur Municipality.
The Maoist Center is in second place, having won one rural municipality chair, one vice-chair, and six wards.
NPL: Chitwan makes winning start defeating Kathmandu
Chitwan Rhinos made a strong start in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), defeating Kathmandu Gurkhas by 5 wickets in the opening match on Monday.
Chasing a target of 112 runs set by Kathmandu, Chitwan achieved it comfortably in 17.1 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
Santosh Karki and Sharad Bheswakar combined for an unbeaten 46-run partnership for the sixth wicket, guiding Chitwan to victory.
NPL: Anil Shah’s half-century leads Janakpur to a comfortable Victory over Karnali
Janakpur Bolts secured an 8-wicket victory against Karnali Yaks in the ongoing Nepal Premier League match.
Chasing a target of 142 runs, Janakpur reached the goal effortlessly in 15.1 overs.
Captain and opener Anil Shah played a pivotal role in the win, completing a half-century to lead his team to victory.
Vice-President Yadav inaugurates Gadhimai Mela
Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Gadhimai Mela (Fair) at the famed shrine, Gadhimai Temple premises at Bara district today.
VP Yadav inaugurated the Fair amid a special ceremony in the premises of the Temple dedicated to Goddess Gadhimai. The religious Fair is held in every five years.
According to the Office of the Vice-President, VP Yadav, accompanied by his spouse Champadevi and other family members, visited the Temple and offered obeisance and worshipped in the Temple.
