DPM Singh assumes Acting PM role during PM’s visit to China



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, to oversee the daily administrative duties of the Prime Minister in his absence.

Prime Minister KP Oli has left for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China today.

As a result, Deputy Prime Minister Singh has been tasked with the role of acting Prime Minister while PM Oli is abroad.

In accordance with the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli and as per the Constitution of Nepal, President Poudel has entrusted Deputy Prime Minister Singh with this responsibility, as stated in an official release from the President’s Office.

Prime Minister Oli has left for China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang.

PM Oli is expected to return to Nepal on November 20 after concluding his visit to China.
