29 arrested for gambling in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: In a crackdown on illegal gambling, police arrested 29 individuals at two locations in Kathmandu.

On Tuesday night, police apprehended 13 people while they were gambling at Tripura Sundari Hotel and Lodge in Mitranagar, Kathmandu.

Police seized Rs 506,000 in cash, along with four mobile phones.

In a separate operation, 16 individuals were arrested while they were gambling at Anita Rai’s residence near Suncity Life Bakery 9 in Kageshwari Manohara Municipality.

Police confiscated Rs 642,500 in cash, 22 mobile phones, and 17 bags.

The Kathmandu Police Complex has confirmed that legal action against the arrested individuals is underway.
