KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has formed direction committees to conduct general conventions of various sister organizations.
Separate direction committees were formed to facilitate the conventions of the sister wings which had stalled the conventions for long.
The committees are mandated to hold discussions with the concerned stakeholders, sort out internal problems, and publish schedules with election calendar at the earliest.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba gave mandate for conducting the general convention within mid April 2025.
With this, the terms of the adhoc committees have been expanded. The sister wings to undergo fresh elections are Nepal Student Union, Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Women Association, Nepal Farmers’ Federation, Nepal Dalit Association, Nepal Democratic Sports Association, Nepal Democratic Fighters’ Association, Nepal Ex-Army Association, National Democratic Disabled Association, and Nepal Tharu Association.
