Monsoon impact: Rainfall, thunderstorms expected today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon air is currently influencing the weather conditions in Nepal.

According to the Division, there has been a significant and widespread change in weather conditions across the country.

In Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, there are reports of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

This afternoon, skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy nationwide, with a likelihood of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in many areas.

Furthermore, there is a chance of heavy rainfall in isolated locations within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Additionally, heavy rain may occur in certain parts of the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the country is forecasted to experience mostly cloudy conditions, with anticipated light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in numerous areas.
