More than 500,000 tourists visit Nepal in past five months

KATHMANDU: Over 500,000 foreign tourists have visited Nepal in the past five months.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 90,211 tourists visited Nepal in May alone.

This brings the total number of foreign visitors from January to May to 506,280.

Monthly breakdown of visitors:

  • January: 79,100
  • February: 97,426
  • March: 128,167
  • April: 111,376
  • May: 90,211

By country, the highest number of visitors were from India, with 148,861 Indian nationals visiting Nepal in the past five months.

India is followed by China, with 46,671 visitors, and the United States, with 45,373 visitors during the same period.
