KATHMANDU: Minister for Forests and Environment, Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, has said the measurement of air pollution caused by motor vehicles has been regularised.

In his replies to sectorial queries in a meeting of the House of Representatives today, he said provisions mandating motor vehicles to assess annual audits of vehicles and obtain green stickers are in place.

In his response to concerns from lawmaker Prem Suwal, the Minister said the government is fully aware of increasing air pollution in cities including in the Kathmandu Valley, and hence it was undertaking efforts to address them in coordination with the department of transport management, province government and the traffic police.

In his replies to Nisha Dangi, the Minister said the government has provisioned a policy of mitigating the impact of climate change.
