KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has leveled allegations against Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security DP Aryal, implicating him in a cooperative fraud case.
During Tuesday’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, Nepali Congress member Ram Krishna Yadav accused Minister Aryal and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) deputy general secretary of being involved in fraudulent activities related to a cooperative.
Yadav stated, “Reports suggest that depositors are owed over 40 million rupees from Hamro Naya Krishi Sahakari Sanstha, with Minister Aryal serving as the Vice Chairman and RSP’s Kabindra Burlakoti as an operating member.”
Yadav further raised suspicions regarding GB Rai, Chairman of Gorkha Media, allegedly being connected to the cooperative.
Demanding an investigation into the matter by forming a parliamentary committee, Yadav reiterated Nepali Congress’s stance, which has been obstructing the parliament session until an investigation is initiated.
Additionally, Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has also come under scrutiny in relation to the fraud case.
