KATHMANDU: In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a convincing six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 14 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Led by their stellar bowling performance, RR managed to restrict MI to a modest total of 125 runs.

The opening bowlers for RR set the tone early on, exploiting the favorable conditions with great effectiveness. Trent Boult’s early breakthroughs, including the dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir, laid the groundwork for RR’s dominance.

Despite a brief counterattack led by MI captain Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal’s impressive spell stifled any hopes of a significant MI total.

Chahal’s disciplined bowling, supported by R Ashwin’s tight line, kept MI in check throughout the innings.

In response, RR faced some early setbacks but managed to overcome them steadily.

Despite losing key wickets, including that of captain Sanju Samson, RR’s middle order, led by Riyan Parag’s brilliant fifty, ensured a comfortable chase.

Parag’s unbeaten knock of 54 off 39 balls guided RR to victory, earning him the Orange Cap for the highest score in the match.

With this win, RR maintained their winning streak in the IPL 2024 and showcased their strength as formidable contenders in the tournament.
