Machhindra FC claims KP Oli Cup title



KATHMANDU: Machhindra FC emerged victorious in the KP Oli Cup, defeating New Road Team (NRT) in the tournament’s final match held on Saturday.

The thrilling final, hosted at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, saw Machhindra FC clinch the title in a penalty shootout.

Despite the intensity of the match, neither team managed to score a goal during regular playtime, leading to an additional period where the score remained level.

Eventually, the champion was decided through a penalty shootout.

This victory marks Machhindra FC’s second triumph in the tournament, having previously secured the title in the inaugural edition.

As per tournament regulations, the winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,100,000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.
