Light rainfall likely in many parts of country today and tomorrow



KATHMANDU: The impact of the Western Low-Pressure System is likely to bring rainfall in many parts of the country today and tomorrow, as per the weather forecast by the Meteorological Department.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the order of moving eastward from the west, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in various places of Sudurpashchim province, Karnali province, Lumbini province, and Gandaki province, as well as some hilly areas of Bagmati province.

Similarly, there is a chance of sporadic light to moderate rainfall in a few locations of hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi province, and one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Bagmati province.

The possibility of light to moderate snowfall in a few locations in the higher hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi province is also forecasted.

Moreover, there is a likelihood of scattered light to moderate rainfall in some places in Sudurpashchim province, Karnali province, Lumbini province, Gandaki province, and Bagmati province, along with sporadic light to moderate rainfall in a few places in Madhes province.

The Meteorological Department indicates the possibility of a gradual improvement in weather conditions from tomorrow onward.

Additionally, this year’s winter precipitation has been 21% below the average.

From December 1 to February 29, which is considered the winter season in Nepal, there has been only 12.5 mm of precipitation on average, as per the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
