NEPSE index drops by 30.05 points on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant double-digit decline in its general index during Tuesday’s trading, the second session of the week.

The NEPSE index concluded the day at 2030.10 points, marking a drop of 30.05 points.

The day’s transactions saw 11,185,712 shares from 305 companies being traded, totaling NPR 4,044,659,922.

Out of the companies traded, 37 observed a rise in share value, while 205 experienced a decline, with 3 companies remaining stable.

Comparatively, Monday had a total share transaction of NPR 4,483,982,461, making Tuesday witness a decline of 440 million rupees from the previous day.

Chirkhwa Hydropower surged the highest with a 10% increase in share value, hitting NPR 531.40 per share, followed by Muktinath Agriculture Company with a 9.98% spike, reaching NPR 509 per share.

On the downside, Himalayan Hydropower experienced a significant 10% drop, hitting NPR 348.30 per share. Similarly, Citizens Life Insurance saw a decline of 7.18%, settling at NPR 491 per share.

Shivam Cement took the lead in transaction volume with NPR 161.1 million worth of transactions for the day.

In today’s market performance, all sectors faced a decline in their respective indices, with the Hotels and Tourism sector observing the most significant dip by 3.21 percent.
