Khadka Raj Shahi elected Ward Chairperson in Tilagufa, Kalikot



KALIKOT: Khadka Raj Shahi of the Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party has emerged victorious in the ward no. 4 chairperson election of Tilagufa municipality.

Shahi had previously won the same position in the 2074 elections. He is also the Chairperson of the Kalikot District Committee of the Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party.

According to Deputy Mayor Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Shahi secured 143 votes, while his opponent, Maoist candidate Naishobha Shahi, garnered 115 votes, losing the race.

In the 2079 elections, the Maoist candidate Par Bahadur Shahi had won with the support of the UML and Congress alliance. However, he went missing after being buried in a landslide on 23rd Ashoj, 2079.

In this election, UML’s Ain Bahadur Shahi received 78 votes, while Nepali Congress’s Pailan Bahadur Shahi secured 49 votes, finishing in fourth place.

Candidates from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) each received 15 votes, leading to the forfeiture of their deposits.

A total of 4 votes were declared invalid in this by-election.
