Westerly winds influencing Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: Westerly winds and local winds are partially influencing the weather in Nepal’s mountainous regions.

Currently, the weather is partly cloudy to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province, while the rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy to clear skies.

This afternoon, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, including Koshi Province, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is possible in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, with light snowfall expected in a few locations.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be partly cloudy to mostly clear across the country, with a chance of light rain in a few areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as in one or two locations in other hilly regions.

Due to the potential for adverse weather, the Division has advised taking necessary precautions.
