Landslide obstructs Dumre-Besisahar road

LAMJUNG: A landslide has obstructed the Dumre-Besisahar road following incessant rains.

The landslide occurred this morning at Udipur of Besisahar Municipality-1, blocking the road, said Thaneshwar Chapain, the Information Officer at the District Police Office Lamjung.

According to him, a big landslide has taken place at Udipur, depositing a large quantity of mud and rocks on the road.

It has been difficult to remove the landslide debris as the landslide amidst continuous rain.

Vehicles heading towards various destinations, including Tanahun, Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan and vice-versa have been stranded following obstruction of the road.

It is said that landslides have started occurring at this place frequently three years ago.

People of Manang also use this road as it is a major roadway connecting Manang to the rest of the country.
