Monsoon winds affecting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that monsoon winds are currently influencing the country, with the monsoon low-pressure line situated south of its usual position.

The Division has stated that hilly areas, including Koshi and Bagmati provinces, are experiencing partial to normal rainfall, with light rain observed in some parts of Bagmati Province.

This afternoon, the weather across the country is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by lightning, is likely in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, with a few isolated areas in other provinces also seeing precipitation.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two locations within Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali regions.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

Light to moderate rain, along with lightning, is expected in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, with a few places in other provinces also experiencing rain.

The Division has also forecasted the potential for heavy rain in one or two locations across Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall is anticipated in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has urged people to take necessary precautions to mitigate the risk of disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and erosion in these areas.
