KATHMANDU: A task force has been formed to resolve issues related to transitional justice.

On Thursday, Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba reached an agreement to finalize the issues related to transitional justice.

Following this agreement, a task force comprising one member from each of the three parties was formed on Sunday to draft a proposal for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) bill.

According to UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, the task force includes NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak, Bartaula himself from the UML, and Deputy General Secretary of Maoist Center Janardan Sharma.

The task force has been mandated to prepare a proposal, including unresolved issues, and submit it to the top leadership.

Bartaula said that the task force will discuss and reconcile the points of disagreement from the previous draft to form a consensus.

The task force will prepare a comprehensive proposal and present it to the top leadership after thorough discussions.
