Two Yarsa pickers die from altitude sickness

MUGU: Two yarsa pickers have died from altitude sickness in Mugu district.

The deceased have been identified as Man Bahadur Buda, 29, and Shovan Budha, both from Chhayanath Rara Municipality-12, according to APF Police Constable Tilak Baduwal.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Mugu, Birendra Thapa, reported that both individuals were brought to Mugu for treatment after suffering from altitude sickness but died during the course of treatment.

Additionally, Raj Bahadur Sawad from Kampha village in Mugu district also fell ill due to altitude sickness.

He is being transported from Mugu Patan to Mugu village for treatment.

Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality has granted permission for people to collect the precious herb yarsa in more than 25 highlands of the district since May 7.
