Nepal clinches victory against Namibia by a margin of three runs

KATHMANDU: In a thrilling encounter, Nepal emerged victorious against Namibia by a narrow margin of three runs in the fourth match of the tri-nations T20I series currently underway in Kathmandu.

Having won the toss, Namibia elected to bowl first, managing to restrict Nepal to a total of 180 runs while conceding eight wickets.

In pursuit of this competitive target, Namibia’s batting effort fell short as they could only muster 177 runs while losing seven wickets.

Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee played pivotal roles for Nepal, each claiming two wickets.

On the batting front, JJ Smit showcased his prowess by scoring a half-century, while Jan Frylinck contributed 37 runs and Jean-Pierre Kotze added 25 runs to the total.

For Namibia, Ben Shikongo led the bowling attack with three wickets, supported by Jack Brussell who took two wickets. Nicol Loftie-Eaton and Bernard Scholtz also chipped in with one wicket each.

Notably, Kushal Malla starred with the bat for Nepal, smashing a half-century with 55 runs to his name. Aarif Sheikh, Gulsan Jha, and Anil Kumar Shah also made valuable contributions, scoring 31, 26, and 23 runs respectively.
