Nepal Police clinches undefeated streak in PM Cup league stage, overpowers Sudurpaschim by 70 runs

KATHMANDU: In a commanding display, Nepal Police Club maintained an undefeated record in the league stage of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 by defeating Sudurpaschim Province by 70 runs in the final league stage match.

Dipendra Singh Airee from Police Club stood out in the match, taking an impressive eight wickets for the team.

The Mulpani cricket ground witnessed a stellar performance from Nepal Police Club.

Having won the toss, Nepal Police Club opted to bat first, setting a target of 199 runs.

Shankar Rana contributed significantly with 46 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee added 44 runs to the team’s total.

Sher Malla and Milan Bohora played a pivotal role in Sudurpaschim Province’s bowling attack, taking three and two wickets, respectively.

In pursuit of the target, Sudurpaschim Province struggled, getting all out in 37 overs and managing to score only 120 runs.

With this victory, Nepal Police Club who had earlier secured a spot in the final will face Tribhuvan Army in the final of the tournament on Saturday.
