Nepal welcomes 79,000 tourists in January



KATHMANDU: In the opening month of 2024, Nepal has played host to a remarkable 79,000 tourists, surpassing the figures from the corresponding period last year by 24,026 visitors, as reported by the Nepal Tourism Board.

Simultaneously, a total of 81,897 Nepali citizens explored international destinations during the same timeframe.

The influx of tourists saw the highest number of 24,139 arrivals from India, followed by 7,267 from China, 7,047 from the United States, and 4,619 from Thailand.

Other notable visitor counts include 3,812 from Korea, 3,629 from Bangladesh, and 3,421 from Australia.

Additionally, Nepal welcomed 3,276 visitors from the United Kingdom, 2,229 from Bhutan, and 1,568 from Japan during this period.
