Rs 80 million allocated to upgrade Ganeshman road



KATHMANDU: Ganeshman route (Thankot-Chitlang road section) has been inspected after the Finance Ministry allocated budget for its upgrade.

The Finance Ministry at the special request of Mayor of Chandragiri municipality had, on January 26, allocated Rs 80 million to forward upgrading activities of the route immediately.

Meanwhile, a team comprising Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, Mayor Giri, Deputy-Mayor Basanti Shrestha and Municipality Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Khadgi carried out an inspection of the Ganeshman route.

Five people were killed in a car accident that took place at Setopaharo along the road section on January 23.

In course of the inspection, Minister Jwala directed the bodies concerned to upgrade the road immediately and carry out activities in order to complete its construction on time.

He urged the bodies concerned to carry out activities by completing the legal process at the earliest as protecting the lives of the people is the first responsibility of the government.

Similarly, Mayor Giri thanked the Finance Minister for allocating the budget to forward the upgrading works of the Ganeshman route.
