NEPSE index drops by 8.75 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has observed a decline in the general index. Today, the NEPSE index closed at 2060.15 points, marking a decrease of 8.75 points.

Today’s business transactions involved the purchase and sale of 11892559 shares of 306 companies, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 4,483,982,461.

Following today’s transactions, the Banking subgroup has increased by 0.01 points, while Development Bank remained unchanged at 0.10, and Finance and Investment stood at 1.07. Similarly, the Trading subgroup increased by 0.45 points. The Hydropower subgroup witnessed the highest decline of 1.72 percent in its index.

Additionally, Financial Institutions decreased by 0.80, Hotels and Tourism by 1.67, Life Insurance by 1.58, Microfinance by 0.15, Mutual Funds by 0.31, Non-Life Insurance by 0.75, and Other subgroups by 0.32 percent.

The share values of CEDB Hydropower and and Chirkhuwa Hydropower Limited have seen positive circuit breaks. However, among the substantial decreases, Molung Hydropower Company witnessed an 8.09 percent decline in share value.

Based on the transaction volume, Shivam Cement Limited conducted business worth NPR 201,373,662 with the highest number of shares traded. Meanwhile, Monapour Minerals and Oil Limited traded 437,027 shares.
