KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed the confidence that Tamu festival would help strengthen our national unity by promoting goodwill, tolerance and brotherhood among all Nepalis.
Stating that the festival would promote tolerance in Nepal’s multiethnic, multilingual and multicultural diverse society, he said that the role of Gurung community is praiseworthy in promoting the country’s tourism by protecting and promoting cultural traditions.
The Gurung community is marking Tamu Lhosar today by bidding adieu to the year gone by.
In the Gurung language, ‘Lho’ means year or age and ‘Sar’ denotes change.
