KATHMANDU: Home team Nepal is gearing up for their second match of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier final against Malaysia, scheduled for today (Tuesday).
With the match commencing at 1:30 PM at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal is aiming to secure their second consecutive victory after triumphing over Singapore by 8 wickets in their initial group stage match on Monday.
On the other hand, Malaysia, having faced a setback in their first match against Oman, losing by 32 runs, will be striving to secure their first win in the tournament.
However, Nepal will be missing their all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airi, who sustained a left ankle injury during training ahead of the Singapore match and will be sidelined for the clash against Malaysia.
It remains to be seen if Bibek Yadav will be given an opportunity to showcase his skills in Dipendra’s absence.
