PM Dahal reaffirms govt’s commitment to combat corruption



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combat corruption, underscoring its unwavering dedication to the cause.

The Prime Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, emphasized the government’s resolute nature of the ongoing anti-corruption campaign.

“We have initiated an anti-corruption campaign in conjunction with the alliance and the government,” Prime Minister Dahal stated, firmly asserting that the campaign proceeds unswayed by external influences.

He further emphasized the unity and unwavering focus of both the government and the Socialist Front in this endeavor.

Prime Minister Dahal expressed his satisfaction in witnessing the unification of parties under the Samajwadi Front, despite previous divisions arising from various reasons.

He spoke optimistically about the Front’s potential to achieve success by advocating for social justice and good governance through unified efforts.

Notably, he underscored his lack of concern regarding the government’s longevity, stating, “I harbor no apprehensions about the government’s duration.”

Addressing speculations that he might shield his supporters, Prime Minister Dahal revealed his proactive stance towards accountability, saying, “I have instructed the CIB to investigate me if I err; I have urged them to conduct a thorough inquiry.”

Amid the government’s commendable accomplishments, he acknowledged the opposition faced from reactionary forces, indicating their discontent with the positive strides achieved.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal conveyed his intentions to champion the cause of farmers during his upcoming visits to the UN General Assembly and China.
