HoR meeting postponed amid standoff over gold smuggling case

The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, which was scheduled for today, was adjourned after the main opposition party, CPN-UML, remained firm on their demand for the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the one quintal gold smuggling case.

To recall, approximately one quintal of gold was illicitly transported through the Tribhuvan International Airport on July 18 and subsequently discovered in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.

Gold price down by Rs 300 per tola today

Gold price decreased by Rs 300 per tola in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 112,600 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 112,050 per tola.
