Govt accepts 20 million USD in grant aid from World Bank

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to accept grant aid of 20 million US dollars from the World Bank for food security and nutrition projects.

Sharing about the decisions made by the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the government will also accept Rs 650 million grant aid provided by the Swiss government for the development of the education sector.

Likewise, a decision has been made to depute Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel to build temporary housing for Jajarkot earthquake survivors.

According to the decision of the District Security Committee, it has been decided to instruct the relevant agencies to provide the necessary personnel from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force immediately, Minister Sharma said.

The cabinet also approved the drafting of a bill related to national mass media, a bill related to Nepal Media Council and a bill to regulate (network and management) the use of social media.

The government has been decided to nominate Subodh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Bharamarpura-5 Mahottari, as the Chairperson of the Nepal Health Professional Council.

Likewise, the government has decided to appoint Dr. Gunaraj Lohani, a resident of Tanahun, as the President of the Health Insurance Board.

Chandra Kumar Rai of Bhojpur has been appointed as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sanskritik Sansthan, while Purna Bahadur Kunwar of Kanchanpur district has been appointed as a member of the E-Good Governance Commission.
