KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan University (TU) has revised criteria for admission to Master’s degree programs in Nepali and English subjects, allowing graduates from other disciplines to apply.

Prior to this, one had to have achieved the Bachelor’s degree with these subjects as major fields of study to be eligible for studying the Master’s degree.

TU registrar Pro Dr Peshal Dahal said the decision was made considering the nature of these subjects, both falling under the literary genre and lacking practical applications.

The TU Academic Council took a decision to this regard on the recommendations of a thematic committee and the related faculties.

As per the revised criteria, individuals with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 100 full marks in English or its equivalent from any board, institution, or university recognized by Tribhuvan University in any discipline will now qualify for admission to the MA in English program.
