UML’s Mid-Hill campaign to begin today



KATHMANDU: Commencing today, the CPN-UML is embarking on the Mechi Mahakali Padayatra, a journey traversing the Mid-Hill Highway.

The inauguration ceremony is set to take place at Zhulaghat in Baitadi, featuring UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Chairman Oli arrived in Baitadi on Wednesday in preparation for the inauguration event scheduled for Thursday morning.

Accompanying him are Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, Vice Chairmen Bishnu Paudel and Yuvraj Gyawali, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Surendra Pandey, among others.

Dubbed ‘Samriddhika Lagi Sankalpa Yatra,’ the UML’s journey will embark from Jhulaghat in Baitadi, traversing the middle hilly folk route.

Throughout Baitadi, UML has adorned the landscape with party flags and vibrant decorations.

Having spent the night at Gothalapani, the Baitadi headquarters, Chairman Oli is gearing up to inaugurate the march at 9 o’clock in the morning.

The flag-hoisting ceremony will mark the commencement of the Yatra at Zhulaghat, the westernmost point of Nepal.

As per UML’s plan, the trek, covering a distance of 1,879 kilometers along Mid-Hill Highway, will conclude at Chiwa Bhanjyang in Panchthar.

The 19-day journey is anticipated to culminate in Kathmandu.

Public meetings will be organized by UML at various locations during the campaign.
