Govt holding talks with agitating doctors at Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU: In what can be dubbed as a significant development, negotiations between the government and protesting doctors are currently in progress at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singha Durbar.

For nearly a week, healthcare workers, including doctors, have been demonstrating to draw the government’s attention amidst rising incidents of attacks against medical professionals in hospitals.

Doctors have unequivocally expressed their commitment to continue their protest until their demands are addressed.

Recent attacks on doctors and healthcare personnel have occurred at institutions such as Manipal Hospital in Pokhara, Patan Hospital in Lalitpur, as well as hospitals in Hetauda, Lamjung, and Surkhet.
