KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda asserted that his recent visit to China has significantly bolstered the historic ties between Nepal and China.
Following a week-long sojourn in China, Prime Minister Dahal held a press conference at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his return, highlighting that his discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang had engendered increased mutual trust.
“Mutual trust between Nepal and China has been further reinforced, strengthening our historical relations,” claimed Prime Minister Dahal during the press conference.
Dahal revealed that during the bilateral meetings held during his visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implement previously established agreements between the two countries.
Prime Minister Dahal’s return followed his official visit to New York and China. He had departed for China from New York after concluding his visit to the United States for the UN General Assembly.

Earlier, after wrapping up a visit to the US for the UN General Assembly, the PM had left for China from New York.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, ministers, lawmakers, chiefs of security bodies, leaders of different political parties and high-ranking officials of the government welcomed PM Dahal at VVIP Longue of Tribhuvan International Airport.
On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army accorded a guard of honour to Prime Minister Dahal.
The Nepali delegation led by PM Dahal returned home from Chengdu city of China today.
According to the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, PM Dahal, during his stay in China, had a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and attended the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Similarly, while in Beijing, PM Dahal had a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang, and witnessed signing of several memoranda of understanding.
The PM also held meeting with Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji. Moreover, Minister of the International Department of China, Liu Jianchao called on PM Dahal.
