Economist Swarnim Wagle quits NC



KATHMANDU: Economist Swarnim Wagle, who was affiliated with Nepali Congress (NC), has quit the party.

Wagle formally announced quitting the NC party and said that a strong alternative democratic force should be established.

It has been rumored that Wagle is likely to join the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

“I have decided to separate from the Nepali Congress party, which has been associated with my involvement since the ‘Satyagraha’ of 2042 BS and the People’s Movement 2046 BS,” Wagle said.

Wagle further reminded about his significant contribution to the party in economic policy and planning, intellectual-theoretical discussion and training, and expansion of international legitimacy, among others.
