Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to visit Nepal on January 4



KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is set to visit Nepal on January 4.

During his two-day visit to Nepal, he will be accompanied by Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Deputy Secretary Anurag Srivastava from the Nepal Desk, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi, and officials from various departments under the Ministry of External Affairs.

He is scheduled to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 a.m. on Thursday via a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force. A program welcoming him is arranged at the airport, with Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and the Indian Ambassador to Nepal among those welcoming him.

In addition to meeting Foreign Minister N.P. Saud, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar will also participate in the Joint Commission Meeting between Nepal and India.

While in Nepal, he will conduct courtesy meetings with President Ramchandra Poudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-UML Chairman and former Minister K.P. Oli.
