KATHMANDU: In a significant development, the Patan High Court, on Friday, issued an order allowing all interested individuals, including the previously excluded EPS students, to participate in the upcoming EPS Korean Language examinations.

The ruling was delivered by a single bench of Justice Chandra Mani Gyawali during a hearing.

Previously, the court had directed the inclusion of around 28,000 students who had not passed the EPS Korean Language examination specifically designed for shipbuilding. However, the EPS Office had issued a notice permitting only 18 individuals to fill out forms for the upcoming examinations. These 18 individuals submitted their forms on Friday.

In response to the exclusion, the remaining individuals staged a protest at Balkumari, resulting in the torching of a vehicle belonging to Physical Infrastructure Minister Prakash Jawala. The subsequent clash between agitating youths and security personnel tragically led to two fatalities, multiple injuries, and numerous arrests.
