Prime Minister Dahal to visit Chengdu, China today

LHASA: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is currently on an official visit to China, is set to leave for Chengdu from Lhasa today.

Prime Minister Dahal will board the morning flight from Lhasa, Tibet, to Chengdu, marking a leg of his diplomatic tour.

His journey will commence with a departure from Mansarovar to Lhasa Airport at 9:45 local time, where he will then continue his trip to Chengdu from Lhasa Airport.

A highlight of his visit will be an inspection of the panda breeding center during his stay in Chengdu.

In the evening, Prime Minister Dahal is slated to meet with Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

Secretary Xiao will graciously host a dinner in honor of the Prime Minister.

After arriving in Lhasa from Chongqing, China last Wednesday, he paid a visit to the revered Kailash Mansarovar on Thursday.

During his stay in Lhasa, Prime Minister Dahal engaged in various bilateral meetings and had the opportunity to explore the ancient Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa.

Accompanying Prime Minister Dahal on this diplomatic mission are several distinguished members, including his daughter Ganga Dahal, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, and others.

The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to return to Kathmandu from Chengdu on Saturday, marking the culmination of his official visit to China, which began last Saturday.
