Landslide displaces 13 families



BAJURA: Thirteen families in Bajura district have been displaced due to flood and landslide.

According to the District Police Office, Bajura, 13 families of Himali and Gaumul rural municipalities have been displaced due to flood and landslide that occurred on Friday as well as dozens of houses are at risk due to this.

A house of Diplal Budha of Himali rural municipality-3, Yuna, was completely damaged due to a landslide that occurred on Friday morning, said Police Inspector Ranindra Singh Kathayat.

Similarly, 10 houses of the same ward are at risk due to landslides.

A health post located at Yuna is also at the risk. Likewise, 12 families have been displaced at Gaumul rural municipality-3 due to landslide occurred following the incessant rainfall.

Vice-Chairperson of Gaumul rural municipality, Sita Thapa, shared that five families of Behari and seven of Dhalkanda have also been displace.

The entire settlement is at the risk of landslide, she added. More than 60 members of 12 families have been taking shelter at Thumthala Primary School.

More than 2,000 families are still at the risk of landslide in the district.
