Bakra Eid observed today

Bakra-Eid, the second biggest festival of the Muslim community was observed across the country today. The festival is observed on the 70th day of Eid-ul-fitr or Ramadan. On this day, the Muslims visit the nearest mosque after a morning bath and attend a mass prayer to read the Namaj.

Harishayani Ekadashi observed today

Hindu devotees across Nepal celebrated the Harishayani Ekadashi festival today. The festival is observed on the first day of the four-month holy period of Chaturmas by fasting and worshipping Lord Vishnu, one of the prominent Hindu deities regarded as the protector of the universe.

“Agriculture production increases by 4.3 percent”

Agriculture production such as crops, vegetables, fruits and spices has increased by 4.3 percent in the current fiscal year as of mid-January 2023. Horticulture and vegetable yields have increased by 4.5 percent, according to Nepal Rastra Bank report.

Govt hospitals start providing free beds to target groups

A total of 2,028 free beds will be made available in government health facilities for indigent, helpless and neglected patients beginning today. The Gangalal National Heart Centre will set aside 90 beds, Maternity Hospital Thapathali 450 beds, Kanti Child Hospital 60 beds and National Trauma Center 150 beds for the target groups, according to Minister for Health, Mohan Bahadur Basnet.
