KMC Mayor Balen instructs private schools to ensure equal salaries for teachers, aligning with community schools



KATHMANDU: Balen Shah, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), issued a directive today urging private school operators to ensure that teachers receive salaries and benefits comparable to those of teachers in community schools within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to Section 12 (7) (6) of the Education Act, 2028, it is mandated that teachers in private schools should be remunerated without compromising the salary scale established by the Government of Nepal.

Complaints have recently emerged regarding the salary disparity between teachers in private schools and community schools within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

He has also urged teachers from private schools to reach out to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Department in case they encounter any issues regarding their salary benefits.
