Agriculture sector to get biggest ever budget in FY 2024/24



KATHMANDU: The government has allocated the biggest ever budget for agriculture and livestock development.

Presenting the budget for the financial year (FY) 2080/81 in the Federal Parliament on Monday, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that 58.98 billion rupees have been allocated for the agriculture and livestock sector.

In the current fiscal year 2079/80, the government allocated a budget of 55.89 billion rupees for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. The newly announced budget is 3.9 billion rupees more than last year.

The government has also doubled the subsidy for chemical fertilizers in the coming year.
