NC should be enabled to fight alone in next election: Koirala

Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala said the party should be enabled to fight alone in the upcoming election.

Speaking at a program in Morang, he emphasized the need of developing robust organizations across the country to enable NC to fight in the election alone.

“I promise to get connected with party colleagues and the people from today onward”, he said, claiming NC would come back to its previous position while remaining together with the people across the country in every happy and sad moment.

ACC Men’s Premier Cup: Nepal to face UAE in final

Nepal has entered the finals of the ACC Premier Cup based on the group stage results after the rain-affected semi-final match against Kuwait was canceled. Nepal is to play against UAE in the final on Monday.

Earlier, while chasing the target of 282 runs presented by Nepal at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kuwait lost 6 wickets in 8.3 overs and scored 37 runs.

The match was stopped due to rain.

As the match had to be canceled due to persistent rain and was not possible to restart, Nepal made it to the final based on the results obtained in the group stage.

Lumbini CM Chaudhary to take a vote of confidence on Monday

Newly-appointed Chief Minister (CM) of Lumbini Province, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on Monday.

CM Chaudhary, who was sworn in on Friday, will seek a vote of confidence on Monday.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held in Deukhuri decided to take the vote of confidence on Monday.

Civil Service Hospital is a symbol of Nepal-China close ties: PM

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said there is a long history of friendly and people-to-people cooperative relations between Nepal and China.

“The two countries have economic, cultural and people-level relations since ancient times. Friendship, mutual respect, understanding and appreciation of each other’s reasonable concerns and sensitivities create the foundation of good-neighborly relation,” the Prime Minister said.

He also expressed happiness over the further expansion of the bilateral ties between Nepal and China.

PM Dahal said this while addressing the program organized here today to hand over the Surgical Building of the Civil Service Hospital to the Government of Nepal. The building was constructed with Chinese assistance.

Nepal sees 51 new coronavirus cases, one death in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of 51 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the past 24 hours as of Saturday.

Of the confirmed cases, 22 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 29 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 1,238 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Of them, 205 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,033 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 361 active cases in the country as 35 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.
