PM Dahal directs to address demands put forth by farmer Ghimire



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed the concerned ministry to address the demands put forth by a farmer in Nuwakot district, who is on a hunger strike demanding to address the problems of farmers.

Prime Minister Dahal asked the concerned ministry to fulfill the demands raised by Shreeram Ghimire of Nuwakot district, who is on a hunger strike at Basantapur of Kathmandu since April 18.

PM Dahal, who had instructed to address the demands through Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, on Friday evening enquired about the health condition of Ghimire and progress made regarding addressing the demands from Chief Secretary and Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Govinda Sharma.

On the occasion, Secretary Sharma briefed the PM that they reached Basantapur, and efforts were made to address the demands.

Although the Ministry has been holding discussions and meetings continuously by forming a talks team comprising Dr. Nabin Ghimire, Dr. Madhav Prasad Aryal, and Shiva Sundar Ghimire, among others, an understanding has been reached yet, according to the Secretariat of the Prime Minister.

PM Dahal had directed to make maximum efforts to address the issues raised by farmer Ghimire and to pay attention to Ghimire’s health as the government was very sensitive to addressing the issues of people’s concern.
