Ruling coalition decides to expands cabinet by Thursday

A meeting of the 10-party ruling coalition has decided to expand the cabinet by Thursday evening. The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Wednesday afternoon has “agreed” on sharing of ministries, sources claimed.

Government will complete full term, PM tells Mayor Balen

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has asserted that the current government will remain in power for its full five-year term. Addressing the first national conference of the Judicial Committees on Wednesday, PM Dahal said, “I want to assure you (Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah) that this government will complete its full term.”

Police arrest 19 including 9 Chinese nationals for online fraud

Police have arrested a gang including nine Chinese nationals involved in online fraud. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested the gang and made it public at a press conference on Wednesday.

Public holiday in Karnali province tomorrow

The Karnali province government has given a public holiday in all the 10 districts of the province tomorrow on the occasion of Shukla Nawami (Ram Nawami).  Spokesman at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Nidhi Raj Neupane, said that holiday would be given to all the government and public organisations on March 30.

Gold traded at Rs 108,500 per tola

Gold price increased by Rs 500 on Wednesday compared to the previous trading day. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 108,500 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 108,000 per tola. The price of the precious yellow metal was Rs 108,000 per tola and standard gold was traded at Rs 107,500 per tola on Tuesday.

Five stranded Nepali youths allegedly live like prisoners in Malaysia

Five Nepali youths including two from Khotang have been reportedly left stranded in Malaysia for the past five months. It is said they reached there in course of overseas jobs and faced the situation due to irresponsibility on the part of Nepal-based manpower company agents who facilitated their visa process towards Malaysia.

Motorbike knocks down a pedestrian

A motorbike knocked down a pedestrian in Bagmati Rural Municiplaity-8 Sattale Rajbas Bridge in Makwanpur this morning. The motorbike (Ba 25 Pa 1908) en route to Hetauda from Faparbari knocked down Dil Bahadur Syangtan, 50, of Bagmati-8, Khajuridmar, informed DSP at District Police Office, Makawanpur, Tek Bahadur Karki.
