The ruling Maoist Centre party has expressed deep concerns about the escalating threats to religious and communal harmony in the country. A meeting of the party office bearers held at its central office in Parisdanda on Thursday, deliberated on the emerging challenges and underscored the urgency of remaining vigilant. Party spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said that the discussions the meeting revolved around various religious and communal activities surfacing in different regions of the nation.
Nepali Congress decides to hold Mahasamiti meeting in November
The Nepali Congress (NC) has initiated preparation to hold its Mahasamiti meeting in November. The party has decided to hold its Mahasamiti meeting on November 29, 30 and December 1 in a bid to establish the party’s future policies. The organizing committee, chaired by NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, has been tasked with orchestrating this event.
PM Dahal visits Mount Kailash, Mansarovar today
Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is presently on an official visit to China since September 23, visited Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake today. He arrived in Lhasa, Tibet on Wednesday. Prime Minister Dahal departed from Lhasa to Mount Kailash from Gonggar Airport on a Tibet Airlines flight. He was accompanied by members of his entourage during his pilgrimage to these sites.

Gold price down by Rs 1,400 per tola today
Gold price decreased by Rs 1,400 per tola in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 109,600 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 109,100 per tola. The precious yellow metal was valued at Rs. 111,000 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 110,450 per tola on Wednesday.
Indrajatra observed today
The traditional festival, Indrajatra, was observed today by worshiping the Devraj Indra, the God of rains and good harvest. This festival is celebrated especially in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley, and Dhulikhel and Dolakha. The annual traditional festival begins on the Bhadra Shukla Chaturdansi of Nepali month, Bhadra. It is an eight-day long festival.

Road to be named after Adikabi Bhanubhakta in Howrah, India
The Howrah Municipal Corporation, Howrah, Kolkata on India has named a local road after Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya, the pioneer poet of Nepal. The half-kilometre road from St Thomas High School, Chapaladevi Road to Narsingh Datto Road via Manasatala has been named as ‘Bhanubhakta Sarini’.
Police arrest three people with four kilograms of gold in Dolakha
Police apprehended three individuals in possession of four kilograms of gold in Dolakha. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kiran Rana said that the police arrested them for illegal possession of gold in Bigu Rural Municipality-3, Jamune of Dolakha last night.
