BIRATNAGAR: Koshi Province Chief Parashuram Khapung called on Friday again for the formation of a new government with the participation of two or more parties in the province.

Province Chief Khapung called the parties to form the government after the Supreme Court revoked Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Uddhav Thapa-led coalition government on Thursday.

NC leader Thapa was appointed Chief Minister on July 6 following CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Hikmat Karki’s government.

Article 168 (2) provisions that the members of the Province Assembly who can obtain majority support of two or more parties represented in the Province Assembly shall be appointed the Chief Minister.

Now the parties in the Province Assembly have to claim the post by Wednesday, August 2.
