RUKUM EAST: The Rukum East road section of the Mid-Hill Highway has been obstructed by a landslide at Bhume Rural Municipality-4, halting vehicular traffic.

As a result of the road obstruction since today morning, vehicles including passenger and cargo ones have been stuck midway stranding passengers, said Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Sharma.

Efforts are ongoing to remove debris, said Inspector, Armed Police Force, Satya Bahadur Budhathoki. Saying that there is coordination with a construction company in removing debris, he said a rock-breaker is required to clear the road as the landslide has deposited big rocks on the road, he said.

Things have become difficult as the landslip continues, Sharma said.

The CDO informed that an ambulance carrying a patient from Kathmandu also got stuck in the incident site. The patient was taken past the site on foot and sent off to a hospital on a vehicle.
